Lecture Programme OSI Spring Meeting 2024

Nikolaos Perakis graduated in dentistry with first-class honours at the University of Bologna, Italy. He completed his studies at the University of Geneva, Switzerland where he obtained the title of LMD, a doctorate under the direction of Dr Pascal Magne, and a specialisation in Fixed Prosthodontics under the direction of Prof. U. Belser. He is the Vice President of the Accademia Italiana Di Conservativa e Restaurativa (AIC) and an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED). He has given lectures and courses at many Universities such as Harvard University, Boston (MA), University of Southern California USC, Los Angeles (CA), Université de Genéve (Switzerland), University of Athens (Greece), Universitá di Napoli, Genova and Bologna (Italy). In recent years, he has published scientific articles, written chapters for books and he has lectured internationally.  He maintains his own private practice in Bologna (Italy).

Renato Cocconi obtained his postgraduate degree in orthodontics with full marks and honours in 1993 at the University of Milan. In the last 25 years, his practice has been exclusively dedicated to orthodontics. He directs the Face Xp Ortho-Surgical Centre in Parma. He is involved in an intense scientific and educational activity, and he has been invited as a keynote speaker by the most important international orthodontic societies and universities in Europe and the US. He is the current President of the Angle Society of Europe and an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. In recent years his attention has focused on the digital evolution of orthodontics, interdisciplinary treatments, and Ortho Facial Surgery together with Prof. Raffaini.

Mirco Raffaini graduated from the University of Parma in medicine and dentistry. He has worked for almost twenty years in Milan, with Prof. Brusati. He has been a fellow in Cranio-Facial Surgery (Dr. Tessier, Dr Ortiz Monasterio, Dr Kawamoto), Head and Neck Surgery (Prof. Sesenna), Orthognathic Surgery (Dr Epker, Dr Arnett, Dr Wolford), in Maxillo-Facial Surgery (Prof. Delaire, Prof. Obwegeser) and in Rhinoplasty (Dallas Southwestern University). He is a maxillo-facial and facial aesthetic surgery specialist and has a Master's in Economics; and Hospital Management. He has taught Maxillo-Facial Surgery at the University of Pisa, the University of Parma, the University of Chiei, and the University of Milano. For the last 20 years, he has been an Associate Professor at Florence University and simultaneously a consultant at Pediatric Hospital Meyer and at the Trauma Center CTO in Florence. In 2006 he founded the Face Surgery Center (Parma and Milano) of which he is Director. From 2019 to the present he is the Professor of Ortho Facial Surgery at the University of Milan.  He is the Author of two books and more than 150 articles on different subjects of maxillo-facial surgery, orthognathic surgery, and aesthetic surgery.
